Honey, notebooks have shrunk. Seriously, look at the thickness that these new notebooks are emerging. Work mobility has been the focus of manufacturers, made not to exercise maximum power, but to propose sufficient performance for work, combined with easy handling.
The Zenbook 14 version UX435E, has just been released, and, yes, ASUS has already sent us. I tested it for the last few weeks working directly, my desire to show this second screen was so great, but I couldn’t. Look at that animal, the touchpad becomes a secondary screen, fully customizable and useful. Come see what the Zenbook 14 of 2021 has to offer you, what it brings with news, and of course, if it is worth paying the price.

Advantages of Zenbook 14
Screen

The 14-inch screen, FULLHD resolution, backlit, has 300nits of maximum brightness, enough to maintain very good colors and contrasts. The striking part is the viewing angles that lose nothing of quality. Unlike the first Zenbook I tested where the screen was coated with glass, we had excessive reflections. It occupies 92% of the front area of the notebook. For those who have vision problems, like me, sharpness helps a lot to not force the vision.
Touchpad + secondary screen
Without a shadow of a doubt, the point that draws the most attention and that stands out a lot during use is the two screens. The ScreenPad in place of an ordinary touchpad makes the experience somewhat different.

In addition to the native applications for the interface, it is also possible to drag windows from any program to the bottom screen.
Drums
Another aspect where the Zenbook 14 goes very well is the battery. You can work a whole day on the notebook in normal tasks of browsing, writing documents, editing photos, it will certainly last the traditional 8 hours or two shifts. In my tests, the battery held up well, about 8 to 9 hours of direct work. According to ASUS
A 65W USB-C charger is included in the kit. Yes, my little friend, you can charge your cell phone with it too, which helps a lot in mobility, if you travel and forget about the cell phone charger, you can use it. And if you forget the notebook charger, the cell phone charger breaks the branch. It is a convenience that helps in the day-to-day.
In the MyASUS app, you can configure the notebook so that it is always operating at 80% of the battery, this helps a lot not to wear out with micro-charges.
Keyboard
Inside the device the keyboard with backlit low profile keycaps. The lighting is not that strong, but it works well at night. Better than the predecessors where the keys were clear and you could barely see the letters.

Speaking on the keyboard, the keys are large, ABNT 2 standard, spaced and very good for typing. This is the perfect notebook for writing.
Mobility
Its low weight and small size make the Ultrabook a great travel partner, easily fitting into any backpack. The metal design helps to collaborate with resistance.
Disadvantages of Zenbook 14
Let’s see where the Zenbook 14 could be better.
Non-touch screen
One thing I miss about the notebook is a touchscreen display, all right, we have the ScreenPad, but because it is thin and focused on mobility, this function on the main screen would be very welcome, especially when we consider the price of the notebook.
No games
Like the Galaxy Book S, the Zenbook 14 was made to work, some light games will even run, but it was not made for games.
Price
The current value above $ 1190 does not please me at all. The notebook is thin, light, and beautiful, for that the cost of production increases, after all, it is necessary more study engineering to place the components in reduced space, but it does not justify values above $1190.

ASUS Zenbook 14 UX435 (2021) – 8.3
If you are looking for a beautiful, light, and portable notebook, with enough performance to work without gagging, the Zenbook 14 from 2021 is an excellent option. Now, you will have to pay around $1190, the initial sales price of the product.
In fact, we find competing products for more affordable values and even, Macbook Air with M1 chipset, where it has excellent analysis regarding its performance, for the same price range.
My indication of this product will only be when it reaches prices below $800, it is certainly a reasonable price for him, after all, lots of benefits have, just become a viable business.
My final grade for him is 8.3.
