Marvel’s Avengers is confirmed for free update for PS5
Check out what Gary Snethen, chief technology officer at Crystal Dynamics, the studio responsible for Marvel’s Avengers, said Avengers is confirmed for free update for PS5.
It was recently announced by Crystal Dynamics studio technology director Gary Snethen that PS4 users who own the Marvel’s Avengers title will be entitled to upgrade free of charge to the enhanced version of the game that will be released for Playstation 5. In this version made for the next generation console from Sony will have, according to Gary, enhanced graphics, 60 FPS and 4K resolution.
According to Gary, the PS5 allows an increase in performance and graphics, allowing the improvement of texture, insertion of reflections of the materials to make the game more realistic and the environmental improvement. The director of technology at Crystal Dynamics also states that his desire is to optimize the game to the maximum to make the most of what the console has to offer. According to him, the CPU and GPU improvements are exciting, but even more so is the ultra-fast SSD .
Gary also cites the new haptic feedback technology from the PS5’s new DualSense controls. According to him, the studio has plans to use the novelty in Marvel’s Avengers in addition to the 3D audio provided by Tempest Engine technology.

Finally, Gary ends by announcing that PS4 Marvel’s Avengers players, both physical and digital, will be able to update the game to PS5 for free. This action was also adopted by other studios such as EA Games and CD Projekt Red in order to encourage users to migrate consoles without major difficulties.
Launch and availability
Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 4, 2020, for Playstation 4 and will be available for PS5 when the console is released later this year.
