Looking for how to download videos from the internet? With Video DownloadHelper you can download from basically any website, some examples are on Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Tumblr, Instagram, Metacafe, CloudZilla, DropVideo among others. Finally, you can download almost any video hosted on a website. The trick works even for some famous movie sites.
But let’s get to it: As I said, everything depends on a small extension for your browser. It is called Video DownloadHelper and can be downloaded for Firefox and Google Chrome.
How to download videos from the internet from any website
The first step is to install the extension on your browser, so we’ll teach you how to do that first.
Install the extension on Mozilla Firefox
The installation process is very simple, you have to open the browser and go to the options in the same that are located at the top right of your screen. Click on the 3 horizontal bars and then select the Add-ons option.
After selecting this option a new page will open in your browser. On this page just search for DownloadHelper and click on install after performing the search, very simple and fast.
Install the extension on Google Chrome
In Chrome the process is a little bit more boring compared to Firefox, but still simple. Go to the 3 dots in the upper right corner, More Tools, and then click on Extensions.
When entering the Extensions tab, click on the top left corner of the three horizontal bars and then click Open Chrome Web Store to be redirected to the extensions store in the browser.
Within the Web Store, just search for DownloadHelper and it should appear first in your search, then just click Use on Chrome.
Downloading a video
Now that we have the extensions installed in the browser, we can move on to the interesting part, which is to download the video we want so much. To give an example, I will download a video from the Gears and Gasoline page on Instagram.
Let’s go to the page of the video we want to download, sometimes it is necessary to play the video in question for it to appear as a download option in the extension. When the video becomes available, it is possible to see the extension with colors, and then just click on it to see the video available for download.
When this option appears, just click on download and it should start at the same time. If the browser asks you to download it yourself or use a separate application, click on the use browser. As soon as you do this, the download will begin.
Depending on the site there will be more than one quality option to download. Some sites have also blocked the extension due to heavy usage by users, so it may be necessary to download a separate program in some cases. But luckily on the vast majority of occasions, the extension must work perfectly.
