Check out the summary of Everything that was announced by Bungie during it’s broadcast about Destiny 2. Find out all the details of the new season that has just launched and the next ones.
After several weeks without any information regarding future updates to Destiny 2, studio Bungie, responsible for the title, revealed the next three expansions of the game, its plans for the game and much more. Although players were hoping to find out what came in the recently released Season of Arrivals, the Destiny 2 developer decided to take a different path, revealing what lies ahead.
According to the revelations that were recently made by Bungie, Destiny 2 will be supported by the next generation console platforms (Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X). That is, if you were expecting the announcement of Destiny 3, know that it will not come out anytime soon. Check out what was said by Bungie during its online broadcast:
In Season of Arrivals players will finally be able to fight against the pyramids
The Season of Arrivals has already started and allows players to fight the big black pyramids that are invading the solar system. The mysterious ships have been evident for years, and finally they can now be seen up close. This season we will also have a new exotic mission and more, although the studio has not really revealed the full script for the season.
The Season of Arrivals includes a dungeon (dungeon) called Prophecy
In this new season, we will have a brand new dungeon, where players will be able to learn more about the dark side (dark side or “the Darkness”). The dungeon looks full of puzzles, like a cross between Tron and The Cell.
The next expansion will be called Beyond Light
Scheduled to arrive on September 22, Beyond Light will take place in Europe, the icy moon that orbits Jupiter, from which the Exo race probably originated. According to what was shown by Bungie, Beyond Light will have a plot around fighting Eramis, a fallen Kell who plans to assemble an army in Europe. In this expansion, a subclass called Stasis will also be introduced.
It is also known that Cosmodrome, from the first Destiny, should return as a patrol area, along with the strike missions in the game.
Destiny 2 will receive major expansions next year and 2022
In a surprising twist, Bungie announced that it will launch expansions in 2021 and 2022., called The Witch Queen and Lightfall, respectively.

All Destiny 2 production will be done for the next generation of consoles
According to Bungie, players will be able to upgrade their consoles to PS5 and Xbox One “at no extra cost”. That is, there will be no loss of season passes or expansions during this change. In addition, the studio promises that there will be “intergenerational cross-play”. This means that PS4 users will be able to play with those who own the PS5, just as Xbox One players will be able to play with those on the Xbox Series X.
It is not known when Destiny 2 will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but Bungie said the game will be played in 4K at 60fps.

Bungie intends to switch the content of Detiny 2
The studio plans to distribute, whenever a new expansion is released, some of the game’s current content and locations, bringing back “classic” things from Destiny. In the case of Beyond Light, it means the return of Cosmodrome. Old invasions will also return, starting with Valt of Glass, Destiny’s first invasion.
