Facebook extends video calling capacity to up to 50 people on Portal devices
Facebook will try to further intensify competition with other video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom, Skype and Microsoft Teams. Mark Zuckerberg’s company decided to increase the limit of users in video calling on Portal devices to up to 50 people at the same time.
The functionality will be used through the Messenger room creation feature. Until then, the messenger could only hold eight people simultaneously using the devices. With WhatsApp, the limit of up to four users remains.

The Facebook messenger system will also allow, on the Portal, to add dynamic scenes. For this, it will be necessary to use the option “Spaces”. Another improvement is the live streams on Facebook Live. Now, it is possible to perform the direct procedure through the pages or groups of the social network, with the right to effects in augmented reality.
In addition, Portal devices are expected to receive news regarding voice commands in the coming weeks. Among them, one of the inclusions will be the initiation of calls via WhatsApp with a simple request.
It is worth remembering that Mark Zuckerberg’s company launched the family of smart devices in October 2018, but only took it to the international market in April of the following year. They are not yet available for purchase in all markets.
