A new class-action lawsuit filed against Google accuses the company of continuing to track users of the Chrome browser, Google accused of tracking users in incognito mode.
The complaint alleges that unauthorized data collection occurs, contrary to the supposed protections of private navigation.
Where is your God now ?! We’ve talked a lot about privacy and data security around here. We recently even hypothesized that the charges against Huawei are nothing more than a smokescreen.
After all, once connected to your smartphone or Google Chrome with your Gmail account, everything we do is tracked. Google has always claimed that this is done to make the user experience more personalized.
Now another lawsuit against Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc has been filed in the federal court in San Jose, California. He argues that Google Analytics and Ad Manager, among other applications and services, continue to collect data when they shouldn’t, browsing in incognito mode on a mobile device or computer.
This violates federal wiretapping and privacy laws, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit asks for at least $ 5,000 per person in damages, with the possibility of millions of users being attached to the complaint.
Google spokesman Joe Castaneda pledged to defend the allegations and said: “As we clearly state each time you open a new anonymous guide, websites can collect information about your browsing activity.”

As you can see in the screenshot above, the Chrome Incognito Mode homepage warns you that your activity may not be completely private. Whether Google itself continues to collect data (and what it does with it) will be a question for the courts.
