Blogger web version (Blogspot) receives visual improvements, such as responsive design and Material Design elements
The Google updated the look of Blogger (Blogspot) on the web. The new version of the company’s blog publisher started to be made available to users in June and brings improvements in the design of the tool after a long time without news.
Announced silently on May 20, the new version of Blogger brings elements of Material Design to the Google publisher and makes it responsive, which allows access to the site even by cell phone. The update also brings new functions, such as the possibility to hide the side menu.
Among the novelties are the inclusion of search operators in Blogger’s publications search tool to filter results. In addition, the content is now available on cards, with thumbnails of images, bookmarks and other information about the post.
The editor gained support for tables and improvements in sending photos and videos to publications. Blogger’s statistics, comments, reading list, and settings tools have also been improved.
The new version of Blogger is now available to all users. If the update is not active, click on “Meet the new Blogger!” in the publisher’s side menu. It is also possible to return to the old version at “Revert to the legacy version of Blogger” by the end of July, according to Google.
In October 2019, Google released a new version of Blogger for Android after three years without updates. The update brought improvements to the look of the blog publisher application for mobile phones.
