IOS 14, the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system, can be released with call recording support(iOS 14 can bring call recording support), a feature that would work even on FaceTime.
Apple is known for caring enough about the privacy of users, delivering a closed operating system, and hence safer. However, this stricter measure is not usually well regarded by authorities, such as the FBI, for example, which criticized the company for not helping to unlock a sniper’s iPhone.
Now, a new feature found in iOS 14 has been drawing the attention of fans, precisely because Apple is very strict in terms of privacy.
Through a reverse engineering method, the iPhone jailbreak community has discovered an area of the system that allows you to record calls, working for both phone calls and those made by FaceTime.
In some situations, when the call is made from one iPhone to another, or when Facetime is used, Apple will send alerts to the other person that the call is being recorded. Unfortunately, this feature brings with it a certain bureaucracy: it is only possible to record all or no conversations.
The service screen also warns that the iPhone owner needs to pay attention to local laws when recording calls, after all, there are countries that have stricter laws on the subject. Therefore, if the news arrives on iOS 14, there is a possibility that Apple will make a gradual release to avoid major problems.
Anyway, none of this has been confirmed by the company, so we will have to wait for more information to know if the tool that allows recording calls will be implemented in the next version, which by the way, should be compatible with all iPhones that currently run iOS 13.
