Lenovo Flex 5G is the first notebook to reach the market with support for the 5G network

Lenovo today announced in the USA the Lenovo Flex 5G, the first notebook to reach the market with support for 5G connections, exclusively for the operator Verizon. The device makes use of Qualcomm hardware, both in processing and in a wireless modem, being able to connect to Sub-6GHz and mmWave networks.

Despite this, the rest of the specifications are quite common, being equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem, 14 “Full HD IPS screen with touch support, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, two USB-C ports, P2 connector for headphones, fingerprint reader and Windows 10 Pro.

There are no details about the battery, but Lenovo guarantees 24-hour autonomy on a single charge, thanks to the more efficient CPU. To accompany the machine, Verizon also launched its “5G Ultra Wideband Connected Device Plan”, a plan that offers unlimited data via 5G for $ 4 a month when combined with a device, and $ 90 when purchased separately. Interestingly, there is a limit of 15GB when the 4G LTE network is used, which should be common considering the limited coverage of the newer connections.

The Lenovo Flex 5G is pre-sold for $ 1,399.99, and can also be purchased through the operator’s payment program in 24 installments of US $ 58.33. As a bonus, buyers will receive a year of Microsoft 365 subscription.

Remember that Lenovo is getting closer to launching its first gamer smartphone under the brand Legion. Tests of leaked benchmarks have already revealed some of its specs, while other rumors suggest that the device may outpace the competition by allegedly being equipped with a Snapdragon 865 Plus, not yet announced.
