Huawei Mate 40 line may bring 108MP sensor
Huawei’s next flagships Mate 40 line may bring 108MP sensor. Apparently, they will have 9P lenses to deliver better results than competitors with that amount.
Now that Huawei has introduced the P40 line , everyone is waiting for the arrival of the Mate 40 line, scheduled for September this year. So, to increase fan expectations, the Chinese blog ITHome released new information about Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro.
According to sources in Huawei’s supply chain, the company’s next flagships will have a 108MP main camera. If the leak is authentic, the Chinese giant will join other brands that also have devices with this amount of megapixels, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and Motorola.
Allegedly, the sensor chosen by Huawei is much better than the current ones, delivering a 9P lens that, consequently, offers images superior to those of the models with an 8P lenses, such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro, for example. The blog also mentions important adjustments and optimizations but does not go into detail.
Since the launch of the P30 line, the main smartphones of the Chinese brand have brought cameras with RYYB color filters, which allow to capture more light than the RGB filter. So there is a good chance that the 108MP sensor will hit the market with this technology.
Unfortunately, there is still not much information about the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro, but both are expected to be launched with a 5nm Kirin 1000 processor, Huawei’s new high-performance chipset that is expected to compete with Snapdragon 865 and Apple A14 Bionic. Unlike the Mate 30 line, the new models will not have 4G variants.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed by Huawei, so let’s wait for other leaks that corroborate (or not) with all of this, something that could happen soon.
