The MIUI 12, the latest version of Xiaomi’s proprietary interface, will be delivered to the Mi Mix 3 5G, but there is one big one that should disappoint the owners of this device.
The Mi Mix 3 5G first smartphone of Xiaomi that supports the new standard of mobile Internet, was announced at MWC 2019 running at 10 MIUI based on Android Pie. Since then, the company has updated the Android version on some models and even introduced a new interface.
Unfortunately, none of these news reached the device. This caused owners to create a petition on “Change.org” asking the company to update the software. Now, in an attempt to please fans, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 5G will receive the MIUI 12, with the release taking place in October.
However, there is a big catch: a representative of the Chinese brand revealed that this smartphone will still be “stuck” on Android Pie. That is, none of the improvements and features present in Android 10, something very disappointing.

It is quite likely that Xiaomi decided to release an update due to the pressure it has been suffering from the owners, but it seems that the company should not do the full job, maintaining an older version of Android.
Remember that the Mi Mix 3 5G did not even receive the MIUI 11, but taking into account that the MIUI 12 will be delivered, we believe that Xiaomi can ignore the current version to prioritize the latest one, which by the way has already been made available for some models, like Mi 9T / Redmi K20.
At the moment, the most powerful device in the Mi Mix line is the Mi Mix Alpha, but it can still be considered just a concept since it has not started its sales. Still, the Chinese manufacturer’s futuristic smartphone delivers a 180% utilization display, Snapdragon 855 + processor, and 108MP camera.
