New Chromecast Ultra has leaked specs revealing support for Stadia and more
It has been rumored for some time now to launch a new version of Google’s Chromecast Ultra. In early June, then, the XDA Developers website released a wealth of information about the search giant’s strategy for its television operating system, including the company’s new dongle, code-named “Sabrina”, which is expected to bring a number of improvements. , even with Android TV installed.
Now, the publication returns in more detail, this time on some of the device specifications, found in the previously leaked firmware code. The “Sabrina” Chromecast should come equipped with a 12nm Cortex A53 four-core Amlogic S905X2 processor running at 1.8GHz, dual-core GPU Mali-G31 and 2GB of RAM. Thus, the device is capable of supporting content in 4K 10-bit in H.265 format at 60FPS via HDMI 2.1, in addition to HDR in the most varied protocols, among Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and more.

Interestingly, this is the same chip used in the streaming box launched by Oi in September last year, as well as in several other similar devices around the world, promising to turn any TV into a Smart TV, with Google Cast mirroring functions and the Android TV itself integrated.
The analyzes also revealed low latency mode and possible support for Google Stadia, the company’s game streaming platform, thus being the first device with Android TV to be compatible with the service. Finally, the aforementioned remote control was also found, which may arrive with buttons exclusive to Netflix and YouTube, in addition to a microphone for voice commands with Google Assistant.

Despite this, it is not yet known when the dongle will be launched, much less the price that will be charged, but it is possible that we will see the novelty arrive next to the Pixel 4a, in an event planned for July.
