New Skate is announced by EA
The #skate4 campaign worked, EA announced that it is developing a new title in the Skate franchise. Check out what the developers said during the broadcast.
During the live EA Play 2020, it was announced that a new Skate sequence would be being developed by Electronic Arts. The revelation came at the end of the broadcast beginning with the words “one more thing …” by game director Deran Chung and creative director Chris “Cuz” Parry, both developers of the Skate franchise.
During the revelation about the development of the new Skate series title, Chris said:
Deran also spoke saying:
Although the announcement of the new title of the franchise took place, Deran and Chris did not provide information on how long they have been developing the game, possible release date or the platforms on which it will be released. In other words, it is likely that the project is still in its beginning, as it was suggested during the transmission.
Skate was originally launched in 2007 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and smartphone platforms . Two years later, in 2009, Skate 2 was launched and finally Skate 3 was launched in 2010. Since then, fans of the franchise have asked for a fourth edition of the game to be launched.
It is interesting to note that the announcement is being made just over a month after the revelation about the release of the remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 games. Did the Skate developers decide to make this announcement based on the receptiveness of the competing title? The reflection is in the air.
