HP dares again with new virtual reality glasses that could stand as the successors to the HP Reverges launched last year and that will be characterized by having up to four cameras to follow our movements and new controls.
The virtual reality glasses market has not been as successful as expected due to a series of limitations, but it is clear that there are still several actors interested in trying to be protagonists in this niche market, and HP would be about to announce a successor to the HP Reverb, a VR headset for consumers and businesses launched in 2019.
The leak comes from images published by the well-known walkingcat filter on Twitter, where a series of renderings of VR glasses with the HP logo and a series of controls that remind us of the Oculus Touch are shown. This similarity would be explained in that HP would have allied with both Valve and Microsoft for these new virtual reality helmets.
What characterizes this new virtual reality headset from HP is that it will have four camera sensors, two on the front and two on the sides, which would allow us a greater volume of monitoring and offer more immersive experiences. Being a collaboration with Microsoft, it is expected to be part of the Windows VR ecosystem. In the images you can also see a physical IPD slider in the lower left corner, something that would also differ from its predecessor.

As for the other image of the control knobs, they are tremendously similar to the Oculus Touch , which would offer a more ergonomic grip and greater control over what the user observes through the lenses.

It remains to be seen if these new virtual virtual helmets from HP finally see the light, although it is expected that an online conference of HP and Microsoft will be held on May 28 where the existence of this new project could be revealed.
