Google Play Store starts showing Premium games optimized for Chromebooks

Chrome OS was born with the intention of offering a simple and fast experience for those who need the basics to work. Over time, the system has become increasingly robust, being able to run Linux applications and even have access to Android applications through the Play Store, including all games from Google’s mobile solution.

Aiming to further improve the experience of those who play on a Chromebook, the search giant seems to be implementing the Premium games section in its virtual store for laptops. The list has titles that have been optimized, or even developed with Chrome OS in mind.

The novelty was discovered by the Chrome Unboxed website , which states that the update seems to be linked to servers, and it may take a while to reach all users. The list is also currently limited, with nine titles, including Cultist Simulator, Gorogoa, Bridge Constructor: Portal and Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition.

The list of Premium games optimized for Chromebooks is still limited, but it should grow over time.

Such a change is very welcome, considering that certain games run better on the system than others, even though all are technically compatible, bringing features such as full mouse and keyboard support. In addition, this is another step to encourage developers to produce content for Chrome OS, which is gradually becoming an increasingly attractive option.

The last major update of Chromebooks occurred at the end of May with version 83, when Google made available tab grouping in the browser, visual improvements, and other changes aimed at improving usability for those who use the laptop professionally during the period of social isolation.
