Samsung may launch Fold 2 later this year with UTG and cheaper variant in 2021
Presented just over 1 year ago, the Galaxy Fold can receive in 2020 a new generation, baptized as Galaxy Fold 2 and that can bring to the family the UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) screen that was officially seen on the market with the arrival of Galaxy Z Flip earlier this year, according to rumors.
According to the information released, the information is not yet certain due to the problems related to the cost of production of the device and the overall weight of the device, something that at least apparently seems to have overcome while the manufacturer intends to ship this screen in more devices in the medium term. , thanks to a partnership with Corning.
Thanks to this partnership with the company responsible for producing Gorilla Glass, Samsung can bring improvements to UTG screens, increasing their resistance, thus overcoming the criticisms seen on the Galaxy Z Flip, comparing it to a fully plastic screen.
Furthermore, it is taken for granted that the South Korean manufacturer is working to expand the production of this type of fabric, decentralizing what until then was in the hands of the German Schott and generating a second line of supplies in the United States with Corning, offering including lower prices.

With that, we have that year we already have a generation with UTG and in 2021, a possible Galaxy Fold 3 bringing a version developed in partnership with Corning, thus making the project cheaper and consequently, financially more affordable for the user.
