The Device event sinks Fortnite map
Check out what happened today during The Device event in Fortnite when the entire island sank. Preparations for the third season are ready!
After several postponements, finally Fortnite players were able to witness Midas’ doomsday clock reach zero. At this time, several fireworks appeared and some trips to an alternative dimension appeared. Then the island of Fortnite simply sank in the sea.
Today’s event, called “The Device”, the NPC’s henchmen could be seen in a panic before the event started. After the countdown ended, the pillars took off under water, there was an explosion in the Agency building and the doomsday device appeared under it on a pedestal. Electronic waves coming out of the device lifted players into the air.
Soon after, an explosion occurred that temporarily transported players to an office, before being transported back to a map that had suffered from a storm. For a moment there was a pleasant atmosphere before the players were taken back to the office, where a character could be heard saying things like “It’s not just a storm” and saying something about “the loop”. This character entered the office and revealed to be Jonesy (before the players were taken back to a map that was completely sunk in the sea).
When trying to access the matches again, we found the initial island surrounded by walls of water and covered by underwater lighting effects. When starting the game, the map was still covered by the same wall of water and where the Agency was, there was a hole in the ground. The henchmen will murder us and nothing else can be seen.
The third season of Fortnite Chapter 2 will begin this Wednesday. The season has been long for Fortnite players, but everyone is now ready for a big change. It is believed that the next season will feature an underwater component according to the recent one.
