If everything evolves as in previous years, Samsung will officially present the next generation of the Galaxy Note family – Galaxy Note 20, as indicated by the latest leaks – during the month of August. However, the usual rumor mill has already begun to outline a sketch of this new product, which would share many components with the Galaxy S20 but would also bring with it some notable novelties.
As in previous years, the Galaxy Note 20 series will be made up of two different models: a standard Note 20 and a slightly more advanced Note 20 that probably adopts the surname Plus or Ultra.
In the last few hours, a series of images and videos have been produced based on an alleged original CAD of the Galaxy Note 20. In it you can see what the exterior appearance of this new phone could be like, which would maintain similarities with the Galaxy S20 Ultra but would present straighter lines.
The source assures that the screen would have a size of 6.7 inches. This, as can be seen in the images, would also have a completely flat panel, unlike previous models. If it were finally like this, this would be the first (high-end) Galaxy Note with a flat-screen from the Galaxy Note 5.
The most advanced Galaxy Note 20 will not have a 100x zoom
Regarding cameras, the CAD shared by Pigtou shows a module with five elements: four photographic sensors and an LED flash. In the images you can also see a telephoto lens similar in appearance to the one present in the Galaxy S20 Ultra – which allows up to four magnifications to be performed without loss of quality. However, the source assures that, at the moment, it cannot confirm the specifications of the different elements, so it is possible that this is not finally present in the standard Note 20.
Long-range telephoto lenses are expensive elements that are currently incorporated into the most advanced models in each family. If the Galaxy Note 20 arrives accompanied by a superior model –as it seems it will be–, it is probably the latter that incorporates said element. This theory coincides with the images published by the well-known leaker Ice Universe. In them you can see a more conservative module than the one represented by Pigtou .
As for the more advanced Galaxy Note 20, Ice Universe notes that the new series will not be able to zoom 100x. The team will have the 108 megapixel sensor that enables this function on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but Samsung will not offer this option to consumers. This camera, yes, will be accompanied by a secondary sensor that will help to focus with greater speed and precision –something that does not always happen in the Galaxy S20 Ultra–.
Online presentation in August?

The Galaxy Note 20 is expected to incorporate Snapdragon 865 and Exynos 990 processors – although there is also speculation that they may incorporate a slightly improved Exynos 992. The displays would employ AMOLED technology, have high resolutions, and offer a 120Hz refresh rate, as in the Galaxy S20 family. Ross Young of Display Suply Consultants (DCSS), assured in a tweet – now removed – that the most basic model of the Galaxy Note 20 will not have a 120 Hz panel. However, this would be a surprise considering that all models of the S20 series, including the cheapest ones, mount panels with this refresh rate.
Regarding the presentation event, Samsung has not issued any official statement. The company usually presents its Galaxy Note in the first fortnight of August, although the expansion of the coronavirus could alter the plans. The event, yes, it is likely that it is not in person, unlike previous years.
