The First Laptop with Intel 11th Generation Processor and Xe GPU: Acer Swift 5
While Acer hasn’t mentioned the name of new processors, we’ll see next-generation Willow Cove cores and Xe GPU architecture on Swift 5 laptops.
Acer refreshes the Swift 5 series with Intel’s Tiger Lake processors and integrated Xe graphics. The new laptops will be on the shelves at $ 999 starting from October.
The company did not use the name Tiger Lake in its announcement. However, Acer referred to the Tiger Lake family, saying, “New Intel processors with powerful integrated graphics based on Intel’s Xe architecture.”

Since the Tiger Lake family has not yet been introduced, we do not yet know the processor models. The models that we know of until now are Core i3-1135G7, Core i5-1155G7, Core i7-1165G7, and Core i7-11857 CPUs.
We have seen the successful performance level of CPUs with Xe graphics architecture in past news. For this reason, GeForce MX350 external graphics cards are offered as an option.

Swift 5 models will offer up to 16 GB of LPDDR4X-4266 memory and 1 TB of PCIe SSD storage options. On the other hand, the 14-inch screen with 1080p resolution will have a 90% screen-to-body ratio with its thin bezels. Finally, let’s mention that the touch screen is covered with Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass.
While the chassis is made of metal material, it will be 15.24 mm thick. The fast rechargeable battery will last up to four hours on a 30-minute charge.

Ultra-low power and elegantly designed models feature Thunderbolt, USB Type-C, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. Also, the fingerprint reader used to log in with Windows Hello is important for security.
This was the first Tiger Lake laptop we officially saw. For this reason, we look forward to autumn product tests.
