The AirPods Pro is one of the most acclaimed Apple products in recent releases. For this reason, the fact of seeing the AirPods Pro 2 in the near future has sparked all kinds of rumors, directly from the production chains and from specialized Apple analysts.
Now, one of those reports indicates that we will not see this fall, as had been anticipated, a new generation, the so-called AirPods 2. In their case, and due to issues related to the brake on world production due to the coronavirus pandemic , the launch would be postponed to sometime next year.
AirPods 2 by 2021
As reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it would affect both models of AirPods. On the one hand, production on third-generation AirPods would begin in the first half of 2021, followed by mass production of AirPods Pro 2 for the fourth quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2022.
However, this would not affect the production of the new headphone ranges. According to Kuo, Apple’s high-end headphones, the Headband AirPods, are expected to go into production sometime in mid- 2020 for a year-end release.
The reports are confusing regarding Apple’s line of products and accessories, and most analysts disagree. It is not the first time that we hear rumors about the delay of the launch of various Apple products, but the case of the AirPods is especially noteworthy.
AirPods: a confusing launch schedule
Therefore, the line that the company will follow in this regard is not very clear, but it is expected that sometime in June. Presumably, during WWDC, more details will be given about Apple’s headband headphones, which would end up completing the current range of AirPods.
The question regarding cheap or Lite AirPods is also pending . Its release date would not have changed and would remain in 2020. All this complemented the headband, whose price would be about $ 350. Although also unconfirmed and with a release for autumn coinciding with the new iPhone.
