Three years ago from the total renewal of the ‘Assassin’s Creed‘ franchise that UbiSoft carried out in ‘ Origins ‘, introducing openly supernatural and wonderful elements, and injecting role-playing mechanics into what was initially born as a sandbox of exploration, adventure, and stealth. ‘Valhalla’, whose title and the setting was revealed yesterday with a director of several hours in which BossLogic illustrated a poster-teaser for the game, it seems that similar courses will follow.
With the trailer that UbiSoft presents today, we begin to know more deeply the protagonists of this story. The hero is Eivor, a ruthless Viking who faces the enemies of his people, in this case, the kingdom of the vile English, in the purest style of his own. This guarantees that this ‘Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’ will be, in all probability, the most violent game in the franchise, or at least the one with the most brutal battles.
New mechanics for Viking fury
Ubisoft promises for this game that we will not only meet familiar elements in the saga (a crow replacing the eagle that always accompanies the heroes of the series to carry out aerial explorations, or navigation -in this case aboard the Drakkar -), but some mechanics have been improved. For example, for the first time, you will be able to wield heavy two-handed weapons, and the combat has been completely modified. The gallery of enemies will also be more powerful and varied than ever.
The game will arrive later this year for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC (exclusively at Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store). A mission called ‘The Way of the Berserker’ has also been announced, exclusively for pre-bookings.
