Microsoft has announced a new functionality of the Your Phone app: Windows 10 now allows you to control music from your mobile Android from your PC. We tell you all the details of this new feature.
Two years ago, those from Redmond announced the launch of Your phone, an application for Windows 10 that allows you to connect your mobile to your computer, along with its smartphone counterpart, Companion of Your Phone – Connection to Windows, an app that is more popular than Facebook and WhatsApp on Google Play.
When it hit the market, this app offered limited features: it allowed access to a few mobile functions through a window on the PC, such as reading text messages or dragging and dropping photos from the terminal gallery.
Little by little, Microsoft has been expanding the functions of your phone, such as the possibility of making and receiving calls from the computer or the option of transferring content between the PC and the smartphone.
Now, the Redmond has announced the arrival of a new feature in the application. This has been confirmed by the company in the statement that contains the news of Build 19619 of Windows 10, where it points out that the new function will allow you to control your music and audio apps from your mobile from your computer.
“Now you can access and control the audio applications that are played on your phone directly within the app, without having to divide your attention between the devices or interrupt your workflow,” explains the corporation.

The function synchronizes the audio tracks between the computer and the smartphone , and allows you to view and interact with the music applications that are playing on your mobile.
Thanks to this, you can control the playback from the computer, including the options of pause, play, previous and next. Furthermore, you have the possibility to switch between multiple sources using the player’s drop-down menu.
The most popular music apps, such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, YouTube Music, or Google Podcast, among others, are compatible with this new feature.
In order to use the function, it is necessary that your PC has installed the Windows 10 update of October 2018 or later, and Android 7 or higher on your mobile phone.
